Spacing Scale
A spacing scale is a fixed set of spacing steps, typically on a 4 or 8px rhythm, from which every gap in an interface is chosen.
A small fixed set of spacing values — commonly 4, 8, 12, 16, 24, 32, 48, 64px — that every gap in the UI must come from. A shared scale is why some layouts feel tidy and others feel random; telling AI “use an 8px spacing scale” immediately tightens its output.
