Skeuomorphism
Skeuomorphism is UI design that imitates real-world materials and objects, trading visual simplicity for instant physical familiarity.
Interface design that borrows texture and depth from physical objects — stitched leather, torn paper, glossy 3D buttons. It maximizes familiarity for first-time users at the cost of visual noise; modern software keeps only hints of it in switches and sliders.
